Nutrition Department- School of Health and Natural Sciences Director, Bachelor of Science Public Health Program Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Public Health The University of Saint Joseph will be establishing a new Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Public Health Program, which is anticipated to begin in fall 2013. The program also offers a minor degree in public health. The University is seeking applicants for a tenure track position of Assistant or Associate Professor (full-time) who will also serve as the Director of the B.S. program, rank will be commensurate with experience. This appointment will be made for August 1, 2013. Responsibilities. The Director will provide leadership and administrative guidance to implement the program and seek future Council on Education Public Health (CEPH) accreditation. In addition, the Director will teach public health courses, and potentially nutrition or health science courses, depending on credentials. The Director will be responsible for all accreditation requirements, reports and updates, program orientation curriculum, procurement and maintenance of resources, facility preceptor relationship management (mentoring organization registry), and student advisement. In accordance with the University?s mission, faculty members are responsible for advancing professional development in pedagogy, scholarship, and service to the university and affiliated communities. Qualifications. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and innovative leader with a commitment to academic excellence. Successful candidates will possess a Dr.P.H. or Ph.D. in Public Health. In addition requirements include previous work in the public health field, three to five years of prior teaching, experience in administration and grant request for proposal (RFP) management , as well as credentials which merit appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
