LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Tuesday morning on News 18 Daybreak, Oncologist Ajita Narayan with IU Health Arnett discussed what's fact and what's fiction when it comes to breast cancer.
Dr. Narayan said myths and misconceptions about the disease can create more fear and unnecessary worry for patients who have been diagnosed or who simply want more information. It's always important, she said, to speak with your doctor because they welcome any and all questions.
Check out the video attached to this story to hear what Dr. Narayan says about breast cancer cases in men, how your family history affects your risk, whether a mastectomy is the best option and find out if a mammogram is painful or just uncomfortable.
